About Me
Hi guys, just thought I should put together a little “About Me” page :)
I am a girl of the female variety, am engaged (to a guy whos primary interest is fish) and I love my reptiles. I’m currently doing a BSc Degree in Animal Management but I hope to specialise/focus on reptiles for my dissertation and my career. I only recently “gotten into” reptiles, when a friend introduced me to cornsnake morphs three years ago. I haven’t looked back since then! I’m a bit baised though, I much prefer snakes and crocodilians to lizards and tortoises… I try to keep this tumblr fairly unbiased and mix things up though.
I haven’t had much experience in keeping reptiles: I currently have a Mexican Black Kingsnake and a Tricoloured Hognose and have kept several cornsnakes, a Boa Constrictor and helped my fiancee with his Bosc Monitor. But its not for a lack of wanting to keep more species! And I read a lot - forums, books and websites. I also have several years of practical experience working in a kennels and cattery and a petshop and have done work experience at several zoos and other animal based establishments.
My other interests are: fish, birds, mammals, dogs, zoology, people and how they interact/view their pets, sherlock, art & drawing, reading fantasy books, ethics, animal behaviour and training, conservation and the impact people have on the planet.
So, a brief introduction to me. Feel free to ask me any questions, whether you want to discuss the ethics of keeping wild caught animals, ask for help with your own pet, request a topic or species, or even to point out anything you think I’ve gotten wrong.
I’m always up for a chat :)
